This term has been amazingly fast. When doing the SA2 papers, it didnapos;t felt like exams is a apos;termlyapos; thing anymore. Itapos;s just so quick that it was just like last week that I did the CA2 papers. Usually there will be a period of slackness after a period of examinations. Itapos;s only after some time when the apos;study moodapos; will come back. This term is real quick, after the holidays itapos;s already the period of apos;most intense studying period of the yearapos;. Itapos;s really crazy, like straight after youapos;ve gone on a holiday your boss waits for you at the airport with a cheeky smile on and asked you to get to get back to work immediately. It may not be so exaggerating, but itapos;s around the same situation weapos;re facing.
Whatapos;s worse, this apos;most intense period of studying for the yearapos; last only for 3 weeks (for last minutes studyers like me, itapos;s 4.) Itapos;s a crazily short time to adapt back to school and to kick start the motors. Itapos;s really stressful as a matter of fact. Ya, talk about good stress and being able to cope with stress. The product is nothing but drained out students who has been become very weird in their attitude, socialising and stuff. There was a passage in the MOE english paper which was talking about the difference in our lifestyles over the years.
Basically, it talks about the difference of the rich of old and the present rich. The old rich would have a major appreciation for arts, and would want to have a long time to themselves to appreciate this forms of arts. They took live at a slower pace. However, this is a stark contrast when compared to the present rich. The present rich live life at such a high pace so much so that the passage describes them as apos;rich travelling nomadsapos;. They are constantly on the move to make money, they are able to make money at any place, and they use this money for philanthropism. They can pay for anything like the old rich - high class transportation, exquisite hotels, sumptous food, you name it. The difference is that the present rich is spending too much time making money that they donapos;t have the time to appreciate the simple things of live You think that they have got the money to have everything, but apprecaition comes from the heart and mind, not the cash. Some of them can even attend a concert and forget theyapos;ve attended it What a waste
The old rich really know how to appreciate live. They would buy big houses and put up many paintings. They would attend concerts and fully appreciate the music. They would sit around for a meal, have a conversation, sharing their apos;storiesapos; and such. Unlike now, when people are just screwed up with their assignments that they get so much stress. Conclusion is? The society is changing. People nowadays are being forced to do things at a very fast pace. This causes them to lose grip of the things they love. And without these things, their world outside their work or studies is empty. They say apos;thereapos;s nothing wrong with my changing worldapos;. Youapos;re wrong my friend. The world is changing. You canapos;t deny it.
